4/10/25 UPDATE:
Efforts are underway to remove trees and establish a sightline, which will enable the creation of a one-lane road for traffic. It has not yet been determined whether temporary traffic lights or stop signs will be implemented.
The State is also planning a temporary repair to the embankment of the retaining wall that has collapsed on the inlet side. Currently, there is no estimated timeline for this repair; however, they have secured a company to complete the necessary work and to establish one-way access.
The project is being expedited under emergency design protocols. Tree removal is expected to be completed by the 10th, and they aim to open the one-lane road within a few weeks, although a specific date has not yet been finalized.
For those inquiring about fishing, they have confirmed that parking is available on Route 82, and individuals can walk over from there. The picnic area has been left open to remain accessible during the road closure.
