The Owner, Owner’s agent or Builder/Contractor is responsible for requesting inspections.  All new work must conform to the current Connecticut Building Codes.  It is the responsibility of the property owner to obtain permits and approvals prior to commencement of work.  Please call to schedule inspections 48 hours in advance so that we may fulfill your needs.  Please remember that permits must be issued prior to inspection, or inspection will not be conducted.  We may be contacted at 860-873-5024 or by email at building.dept@easthaddam.org.
Required Building Department Inspections Form

1. Footings with forms in place.  Including pier pads and rebar. (prior to concrete placement)
2. Foundation Wall Rebar
3. Waterproofing/Coating along with Footing and Curtain Drains
4. Vapor Barrier for Concrete Slabs (6mil poly minimum)
5. Temporary Electric Service (separate permit required)
6. Structural Framing
7. Roof - Ice & Water and plywood seam sealing 2015 IRC 905.1.  NEW
8. Air Barrier Inspection Prior to Water Barrier Installation (Tyvek, Greenwarp, ect.)
9. Insulation and Thermal Barrier on exterior walls for duct chases, showers, knee walls, etc.
10. Water Supply, Gas Supply and Electrical Trenches and required markings
11. Rough Heat and A/C-HVAC and Duct Blast and Blower Door Test
12. Rough Plumbing
13. Rough Electrical
14. Fireplace, Chimney and Stove Pipe Inspections including inserts.(separate permit is required)
15. Insulation (no insulation allowed in building before exterior is weather tight)
16. Permanent Electrical Service
17. Final Inspection for Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Approval
