LEGAL NOTICE
TOWN OF EAST HADDAM
OFFICE OF THE TAX COLLECTOR

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL TAXPAYERS of the Town of East Haddam, Connecticut that a tax of 25.75 mills, laid on the Grand List of October 1, 2022, is due and payable to the office of the Tax Collector.

PAYMENT INFORMATION:

FIRST INSTALLMENT DUE:           JULY 1, 2023         LAST DAY TO PAY: AUGUST 1, 2023

SECOND INSTALLMENT DUE:      JANUARY 1, 2024      LAST DAY TO PAY: FEBRUARY 1, 2024

ALL MOTOR VEHICLES TAXES are due in full JULY 1, 2023.  LAST DAY TO PAY: AUGUST 1, 2023.

REAL ESTATE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES $100.00 OR LESS are due in full JULY 1, 2023.  LAST DAY TO PAY:  AUGUST 1, 2023.

INTEREST shall be charged at the rate of one and one-half percent (1 ½ %) each month (18% annual percentage rate) from the installment due date.  MINIMUM INTEREST SHALL BE NO LESS THAN $2.00 PER TAX BILL, PER INSTALLMENT.   Connecticut State Statute: 12-146

FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT INVALIDATE THE TAX.  Connecticut State Statute: 12-130.  If you did not receive a bill and believe you should have, please contact the Tax Collector’s Office:

The Tax Collector is located at the Municipal Office Complex, 1 Plains Road, Moodus, CT.  Payment may be made in person, by mail, online (www.easthaddam.org) or placed in the Tax Collector’s drop box. 

TAX OFFICE HOURS:  Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.    

PAYMENT may be made by cash, check or credit/debit card.  THERE IS A PROCESSING FEE OF 2.50% FOR ALL CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS.  DEBIT MASTERCARD & VISA PAYMENTS HAVE A PROCESSING FEE OF $3.50 AND ECHECKS HAVE A FEE OF $2.00.  For online payments, visit www.easthaddam.org.  A secure lock box is available to the right of the main entrance for payments.  A payment voucher should be sent with all payments to assure proper credit.  To receive a receipt for payment, send the payment voucher and payment along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope.  Payments postmarked after August 1, 2023 will be considered delinquent and subject to the interest stated above.  Please remember, the January stub for Real Estate and Personal Property is included with your July bill.  A second bill will not be sent.
