*On April 22, 2020 the Town of East Haddam adopted a Tax Deferment Program for all East Haddam Taxpayers with certain stipulation for landlords only: Executive Orders 7S #6 and 7W ("EO 7S & 7W") issued by Governor Lamont on April 1, 2020 provided relief for taxpayers through a local option tax deferral program. The effect of this program is the equivalent of an extended grace period. The last day to pay the July 1, 2020 tax installment amount due without interest is extended from August 3, 2020 to October 1, 2020.
PLEASE READ THE INSERT IN YOUR TAX BILL FOR DETAILED INFORMATION. DEFERRAL APPLICATIONS ARE FOR LANDLORDS ONLY. ALL OTHER TAXPAYERS WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE THE EXTENDED GRACE PERIOD. BANK ESCROWS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE DEFERMENT PROGRAM.
FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT INVALIDATE THE TAX. Connecticut State Statute: 12-130. If you did not receive a bill and believe you should have, please contact the Tax Collector’s Office:
