2022 Revaluation

2022 Revaluation Update: Data Collection to begin March 21, 2022.

The Town of East Haddam will be conducting a Revaluation for the 2022 Grand List. In accordance with Connecticut State Statutes, a revaluation is required every five years. The objective is to eliminate any assessment inequities that may have developed since the previous revaluation by reconciling property assessments to their fair market value as of October 1, 2022.

The Town of East Haddam has hired Vision Government Solutions to conduct the revaluation. The scope of work included in the data collection phase of the project will include all properties sold between 2021 and 2022, properties with open building permits, as well as additional properties requiring inspection as a result of the property data mailers to be sent to all taxpayers in March 2022. Data collection in the field will start Monday, March 21, 2022. The exterior of selected properties will be inspected, measured and photographed, and an attempt to verify interior data will be made, either verbally at the door, or with an interior inspection if requested by the homeowner. All Vision employees will carry photo identification, as well as a letter from the Town Assessor stating the nature of their work. Their cars will be registered with the East Haddam Assessor’s Office and Resident State Troopers. We respectfully request your cooperation with the revaluation team during this process.

The current Vision representatives/vehicle information:

Osvaldo Martinez / Brown 2007 Honda Civic CT reg A08522
Doug Woodmansee / Black 2015 Chevy Camaro CT reg BD-23915

Once the review process is complete and all data is analyzed, new assessments will be mailed to property owners in late 2022. At that time, Vision Government Solutions will conduct informal appeal hearings with property owners to discuss assessments at the property owner’s request. Further appeal options will be available through the Board of Assessment Appeals in March of 2023 after the grand list is signed. Final property assessments for the 2021 Grand List will reflect on the July 2023 tax bill.

Should any property owner have questions or need additional information, please call the Assessor’s Office at (860) 873-5026.
