Collection Enforcement

Real Estate Taxes:
The Tax Collector files liens each year on all accounts having outstanding taxes.  Liens remain in effect until all taxes, interest and fees are paid in full.  The lien fee is currently $24.00.

Liens are subject to foreclosure and tax sale.

Personal Property Taxes:
All delinquent personal property accounts will be sent a delinquent statement, a demand and finally referred to American National Recovery Group for collection.

Motor Vehicle Taxes:
Per state statute, delinquent motor vehicle taxes are reported to the DMV, which deny registration and/or renewal of all vehicles in your name until all taxes, interest and fees are paid in full.

All delinquent motor vehicle accounts will be sent a delinquent statement, a demand and finally referred to American National Recovery Group for collection.

If you need an immediate release for DMV:  ALL motor vehicle taxes in your name must be paid in full by cash, money order or bank check.  ALL personal checks, credit/debit cards and e-checks will be held for 10 business days before being released to DMV.

Sewer Usage:
Usage fees are handled in the same manner as Real Estate.
