Outstanding Achievement and Performance Award

The Town of East Haddam Employee Outstanding Achievement and Performance Award recognizes outstanding achievements and performance in one’s service to the Town of East Haddam. This award will be issued on a quarterly basis to an employee nominated by their peers. The recipient will receive a certificate and their name will be posted on the Town of East Haddam Website. Additionally, all recipients will be awarded one day of paid administrative leave time which must be used by the end of the calendar year in which they received the award. The recipient(s) will be further recognized during the annual holiday celebration at the end of the calendar year. These nominations will become part of the recipient’s permanent employment record.

Nominations may include workplace achievements that are beyond what is normally expected. It may recognize individuals who provide leadership and contribute to the success of coworkers and the Town of East Haddam as a whole. It may also recognize employees who show initiative and demonstrate a high level of productivity. Nominees must have been employed by the Town of East Haddam for at least one year to be considered for this award and a past recipient is not eligible for at least one year after receiving the award.  

All nominations will be reviewed by the Human Resource Director and First Selectman. If you are aware that other employees are considering nominating your nominee, please submit the nomination as a group. 

To nominate a fellow coworker, please complete a nomination form which is in every Town Office, posted on the Town’s Website, and linked below. When filling out the form please provide as much detail as possible. The nomination form should include examples of an employee’s outstanding achievements and performance. A letter of support may also be included in addition to the details provided on the nomination form.

Town of East Haddam "Outstanding Achievement and Performance Award" Nomination Due Dates:

  • Nomination due date for January 1 is December 1 (of the previous calendar year)
  • Nomination due date for April 1 is March 1
  • Nomination due date for July 1 is June 1
  • Nomination due date for October 1 is September 1

All nominations are due to the First Selectman’s office according to the dates outlined above. Late nominations will be reviewed during the following nomination cycle.
