Veterans and marching groups are invited to participate in the East Haddam Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 26.

There will be one ceremony taking place prior to the parade step off: A waterside tribute will be held at 8:30 am at the East Haddam/Haddam Swing Bridge.  This event will be followed by a parade stepping off at 10:00 am from Municipal Office Complex and proceeding to the American Legion Post 156 on Neptune Avenue.

The parade assembly will begin at 9:15 am at the Municipal Office Complex in Moodus.   Foot marchers are asked to assemble at their designated area along the sidewalk in front of the building and vehicles and floats are asked to line up in the rear of the building with a planned exit onto Wigwam Road then left onto Town Street.

The parade steps off promptly at 10:00am and will proceed on Town Street to the Moodus Green & Nichols Memorial for memorial ceremonies.  The parade concludes at the American Legion Post 156 where a memorial program will be conducted.  Light refreshments will follow the services at the American Legion Post 156.  

Because of safety concerns, those marching or riding in the Memorial Day Parade are reminded not to throw candies or novelties to anyone on either side of the parade route.  These items may be hand passed to spectators.
