    Mill Rate

    The mill rate for the October 1, 2015 Grand List is 29.35.

    A mill is equal to $1.00 of tax for each $1,000 of assessment. To calculate the property tax, multiply the assessment of the property by the mill rate and divide by 1,000.

    Example:  A property with an assessed value of $250,000 located in a municipality with a mill rate of 29.35 mills would have a property tax bill of $7,337.50 per year.

    Example:  Assessment x Mill Rate = Tax Dollars
    A Motor Vehicle assessed at $12,230 (x.02935) = $358.95
