LEGAL NOTICE
SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
TOWN OF EAST HADDAM

The Electors and citizens of the Town of East Haddam, Connecticut qualified to vote in Town Meeting are hereby warned and notified that a Special Town Meeting will be held in the Town Meeting Hall on Town Street in the said Town of East Haddam, at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2006 for the following purposes, to wit: 

Item 1:  To consider and act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance to transfer $22,400 from Undesignated Fund Balance to Dept. 713 Land Use in the 2005-2006 Budget. 

Item 2:  To consider and act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance to transfer $35,824 from Contingency and $6,094 from Undesignated Fund Balance for a total of $41,918 to Dept. 754 Snow Removal in the 2005-2006 Budget. 

Item 3:  To consider and act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance to appropriate $12,018 from the Undesignated Fund Balance to Department #712 Town Counsel in the 2005-2006 Budget. 

Item 4:  To consider and act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance to appropriate $4,628 from the Undesignated Fund Balance to Department #740 Building Department in the 2005-2006 Budget. 

Item 5:  To consider and act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance to appropriate $481 from the Undesignated Fund Balance to Department #765 Aging & Elderly in the 2005-2006 Budget. 

Item 6:  To consider and act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance to appropriate $310,000 from the Reserve for Capital Projects to the 4-8 Middle School Checking Account. 

Item 7:  To consider and act upon the following resolutions: 

RESOLVED:  That this Town Meeting act upon the recommendation of the Board of Selectmen to accept an additional grant in the amount of $250,000 from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development to complete the construction of sidewalks and lighting in the Moodus Center; and to direct the First Selectman to execute and file such application with the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, to provide such additional information, to execute such other documents as may be required, to execute an amended Assistance Agreement with the State of Connecticut for State financial assistance if such an agreement is offered, to execute any amendments, decisions, and revisions thereto, and to act as the authorized representative of the Town of East Haddam. 

RESOLVED:  That this Town Meeting appropriate the sum of $250,000, as recommended by the Board of Finance, to complete the construction of sidewalks and lighting in the Moodus Center.
