An American folk/blues singer, guitarist and song writer, his music draws deeply from his formative years in Louisiana learning the picking styles of Mississippi John Hurt, and Lightnin’ Hopkins. Moving to Cambridge in the 60’s, he became a forerunner in the burgeoning folk scene. His songs have been recorded by a long list of well-known artists. The 2014 album “Link of Chain A Songwriter’s Tribute to Chris Smither” is testimony to the respect and admiration for his songwriting by an all-star list of artists including Bonnie Raitt, Josh Ritter, and Patty Larkin.  In addition to his extraordinary music career, he is also the recipient of many awards for his published essays and short stories.  Chris is on tour now promoting his latest release, "Call Me Lucky", which has received stellar reviews.  Come early to get a front row seat.
