LEGAL NOTICE
TOWN OF EAST HADDAM

The East Haddam Board of Assessment Appeals will hold public hearings at the Municipal Office Complex at 1 Plains Road, Moodus on Saturday March 3rd, 2018. Hearings will beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Appointments are typically scheduled every 15 minutes based on the order in which applications for appeal are received.  In the event that the number of appeals received exceed the number that can be heard on March 3rd, we hold a second public hearing on Saturday, March 10th beginning at 9:00 a.m. Taxpayers wishing to appeal their assessments must file a written application postmarked on or before February 20, 2018.  Only those persons filing a written application can be heard. Applications may be obtained at the Assessor’s Office, 7 Main Street, East Haddam, CT or on the town website at www.easthaddam.org.  Applications are to be returned to the Board of Assessment Appeals, P.O. Box K, East Haddam, CT 06423 or the Assessor’s Office.  The written appeal shall include, but is not limited to, the property owner’s name, name and position of the signer, description of the property which is the subject of the appeal, name, mailing address and phone of the party to be sent all correspondence by the board of assessment appeals, reason for the appeal, appellant’s estimate of value, signature of property owner, or duly authorized agent of the property owner, and date of signature. The board shall notify each aggrieved taxpayer who filed a written appeal in the proper form no later than March first of the time and place of the appeal hearing.  If you require special meeting time considerations please make it known at the time of application.
