                      264 Town Street, East Haddam

This event will take place outdoors on the grounds of the Museum. Please bring your own blanket or chair for sitting.

Chris Newell (Passamaquoddy), Head of Education at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center will open with a historical presentation on Pequot/Native history in Connecticut. We will make our way through various eras of history using artifacts and replicas as hands-on components for the presentation and talk briefly about the change that colonialism brought to the land. From there we will transition to a musical presentation. A “Musical Tour of Native America” will include the educator bringing his knowledge of various Native musics from across the US and Canada. Samples of different styles of songs and singing will be provided live and the end of the presentation will have some interaction with the crowd as we finish with a Round Dance.

This event is open to the public and free to EHHS members and children under twelve. A $5 donation is requested from non-members.
