4th Annual Light Up the Park, Walk of the Jack O'Lanterns
Saturday, Sunday, and Monday October 28 - October 30 | 5:00-7:00pm Each Night

The East Haddam Leos Club is proud to announce that once again we will be lighting up the park at Heritage Park the weekend of Halloween and we are looking for your help. Last year we gave away 200 pumpkins the Thursday before Halloween to people in the community with the promise that they would take them home and carve them and return them to Heritage Park at the East Haddam Senior Center that Saturday. We distributed the pumpkins all around the walking trail and invited everyone to come walk the trail each night that week to enjoy all the pumpkins. They were lit every night with led tea lights and tours were given. We were so excited that over 175 pumpkins were returned and many people purchased their own pumpkins to drop off carved at the park as well. We had hundreds of people from our community come to enjoy this event.

This year we are excited to be handing out 200 pumpkins again and we have even more to hand out thanks to the support of many local businesses and organizations. We ask that once we hand out all of the pumpkins that you consider purchasing a pumpkin from one of the local farms or shops in town. (Balleks Garden Center, Berryhill Farm, Staehly’s Farm and Shagbark) We are hoping that we can have well over 250 pumpkins lighting up the trail and look forward to seeing you out there.

    New this year!!!

    ***Pumpkin Carving Contest***
Everyone is invited to participate in our first ever pumpkin carving contest. Bring your carved pumpkin to Heritage Park on Saturday the 28th and register it between 5:00-6:00. There will be a table set up to display all the carved pumpkins and from 6:00 - 6:45 p.m. everyone in the community will have the chance to vote for their favorite.

    ***Fireshow***
Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. we have some special guests showing off their fire spining skills with hoops, fans, poi, dragon staff and more!!!
This is a free event but bringing a carved pumpkin as 'admission' would be greatly appreciated.
