  • Good Friday Cross Walk

    Date: April 14, 2017
    Time: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: Starts at St. Bridget's Church
                       75 Leesville Road, Moodus

The annual Good Friday Cross Walk will be on April 14 starting at 8:00 a.m. in St. Bridget's sanctuary with Father Galvin at 75 Moodus Leesville Road in Moodus. He will start us on our journey through town and give us a 'Message' to carry, along with 'The Cross'. We will share the walk with our fellow brothers and sisters.

The next stop on our journey will be at the Moodus Green where we will be moved by Rev. Janice Kimball from the Hadlyme Congregational Church. It is a short walk from there, where we will receive our words from Rev. Stacy Goforth as the Pastor at Moodus United Methodist Church. As we continue to carry the burden of 'Carrying the Cross' we will stop at Chestelm Adult Day Services to hear from Rev. Alicia Leslie from Spirit of Unity.

As we move on to The First Church of Christ we will rest in the sanctuary and listen to our message from Rev. Laura Fitzpatrick-Nager. Just down the street we will continue to hear the message unfold at Christ Community Church from Pastor Vicky Triano. It is all down hill from there where we hear the final message of the day from Rev. Adam Yates at the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Main Street in East Haddam. We will end around noon time.

After the service ends at St. Stephen's they are very generously offering us soup for the end of our journey, so that we can feed our bodies as well as our souls. All are welcome to attend, young and not so young. If you can't walk the journey with us, which is approximately five miles, with a lot of stops and rests, you are welcome to drive ahead of us to each stop along the way. If you have any questions you may call, Kathy, at (860) 873-1830. We hope you will join us and help us to 'Carry the Cross' through town.
