Any U. S. citizen 18 years or older and a bona fide resident of this town is eligible to vote. If you are 17 years old, but will be 18 years old by Election Day, you may "pre-register" and you will become a voter on your 18th birthday.
Register in person at the Registrar's Office on Tuesday between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by appointment. Registration in person may also be accommodated at the Town Clerk's Office which is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon).
Mail-in registration cards may be obtained at various public locations such as libraries, Department of Motor Vehicles, or Municipal Office Complex or by completing the link below. The pre-election mail-in voter registration cutoff deadline is eighteen (18) days before an election or primary. Cards are addressed to Registrar of Voters, 1 Plains Road, P.O. Box 385, Moodus, CT 06469. For general elections, Connecticut also has Same-Day Registration available during the period of Early Voting and on Election Day for voters who need it.
New Voter Registration Exceptions to Deadline:
Any person who achieves eligible status due to age, becoming a naturalized citizen or a new resident of the Town, on or after a date one week prior to election may still register to vote. Please contact the Registrars of Voters for specific details on limited enrollment sessions if this pertains to you.
